Madopar is the brand name for levodopa/benserazide hydrochloride. It is found in doses of 50/12.5, 100/25, and 200/50 milligrams with typical treatment doses of 187.5 to 1,000 milligrams of levodopa total dose divided 3-4 times per day.
Benserazide hydrocholide is a dopa-decarboxylasa inhibitor.
The combination of levodopa and benserazide hydrochloride is also known as co-beneldopa.
Madopar is not available in the US since benserazide has not been approved.
